Welcome to 3rd Grade!!
My name is Ms. Han and I am excited to be your teacher this year. It is a very different start to the beginning of the year. We will get through this together!
Here you will find some information important to our classroom. Please read through each part carefully.
Communication
Communication between parents and teachers is key for your child being a successful 3rd grader. You can write an email, reach me via Remind, or you can call the school and leave a message.
School Phone #: 718-423-8652
Teacher E-Mail: [email protected]
I will also be using the Remind app which will allow me to send out brief reminders to everyone at once. Please download the Remind app on your phone and enter our class code: @321121
*** Once you have installed the app and joined our class, please send me a text with your child's name.
Transportation:
It is very important that I am informed as to how your child will depart from school. All transportation changes must be in writing. You may send a note or message me on Remind. In case of an emergency, call the office to notify us of any changes.
Expectations:
- Our classroom is a positive and safe learning environment. All students are expected to treat others with kindness and respect.
- Students are expected to encourage and build each other up. They will also work together to respect each other's abilities and opinions.
- Our classroom will be kept neat and organized.
Homework
- Homework will be assigned Monday through Friday. On most days, homework will consist of reading, grammar, and math practice.
- Third graders are expected to read for at least 20 minutes each night in the beginning of the school year. As they build on their reading stamina, they will be expected to read for about 45 minutes by the end of the school year.
Breakfast/Lunch
Students can grab a breakfast as they enter the building. Students will have about 15 minutes to eat their breakfast in the morning. Our lunch this year is from 12:25-1:15. If you plan on sending lunch from home, please make sure the lunch bags and water bottles are clearly labeled with their names.
We will have snack daily. Please send in a healthy snack.
*Please do not send in any glass water bottles.
Arrival/Dismissal
SCHOOL STARTS AT 8:30 AND DISMISSAL IS AT 2:50.
3rd grade students will enter the building from the school yard in the morning.
